Yulman Stadium is located right on campus next to the baseball field and will hold 30,000 fans per game and offers a slew of amenities for not only the football teams but also other Tulane athletes, students and alumni.

Tailgate Safety at Yulman Stadium

With the excitement of an on-campus football stadium, students and alumni are invited to tailgate prior to each home game. It is extremely important to understand that tailgating is not a frat party. If you are a student, you have to remember that you’ll be alongside alumni, faculty and staff and you should respect those around you and their space.

On September 6, tailgating will open at 11:00 a.m., which is four hours prior to kickoff time at 3:00 p.m. Tulane is calling this Tailgate Village. The stadium itself won’t be open until 90 minutes prior to kickoff. For the entire season schedule, you can visit Yulman Stadium’s website here.

Students: you must adhere to all conduct responsibilities that are outlined in the Tulane University Office of Student Conduct.

Guests of Students: You, too, must adhere to all Tulane University rules, and your host may be held responsible for your actions.

Tulane really wants everyone to enjoy their tailgating experience prior to all home games. They would also like this tradition to live on for years to come. In order to ensure long-term fun, follow these tips:

  • Follow directions from law enforcement, security, ushers, and stadium personnel
  • Do not get into fights with anyone, including your own friends
  • Do not bring any illegal drugs to the games
  • Be responsible if you are drinking alcohol – Never drink under age!
  • Do not loiter in the concourse, aisles, tunnels or stairs
  • Do not use foul language or gestures
  • Do not destroy, vandalize, steal or damage any property
  • Leave the disabled seating for the disabled
  • Do not bring any of the Prohibited Items into Yulman Stadium

Violating any of these rules can land you in trouble with not only Tulane University, but also with the law. You do not want an oversight or an immature decision affect your studies or future. Call an experienced criminal defense lawyer if you do happen to get caught violating any of these rules. A defense attorney will hear your case, guide you through it smoothly, and help make sure that your rights aren’t violated and you aren’t putting yourself in jeopardy for your future.

Don’t Get Caught with a Minor in Possession

If you are under 21 years old and caught with alcohol, drinking alcohol, driving under the influence, or serving alcohol, you may be charged with a Minor in Possession. You do not want this. Be responsible if you are going to choose to tailgate. I do not condone underage drinking. There is plenty of entertainment at the tailgates including food and non-alcoholic drinks.
