How to Pay Your Traffic in St. Tammany Parish

I am often asked how to pay tickets, fees and fines received in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana.  Tickets issued by the State Police or St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office are heard before the judges at the 22nd Judicial District Court in Covington, Louisiana.  After referring many people to the clerk’s office for the answer, I called myself.  Here are your choices:

Paying for Speeding Tickets in St. Tammany Parish, Louisiana

According to the Sheriff’s Office, there are three options for payment:

Pay in Person:

You have two options to pay in person – the St. Tammany Parish Justice Center and the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Administrative Complex. 

The addresses are as such:

St. Tammany Parish Justice Center701 North Columbia Street , Covington, LA  70433

St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Administrative Complex, 300 Brownswitch Road , Slidell, LA  70458

The phone number is (985) 809-8250. Payments made in person may be made in cash or money order made out to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Pay by Mail:

You can mail a money order or check to the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office to make your payment.  The address is P.O. Box 1120 in Covington, Louisiana 70434. Mail should be addressed to the attention of “Ticket Collections.” I recommend mailing the check with some kind of tracking number so you have proof the check arrived at the Sheriff’s Office.

Pay Online:

You can pay tickets for online at: https://secure.stpsopayments.com/. Online payments for tickets in St. Tammany Parish require you to have your citation number and last name.

Payment is not accepted over the phone in St. Tammany Parish.

All payments made by check, credit card or debit card are subject to a 2.5% processing fee.  Credit cards accepted include Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Always remember to include your ticket number on your check.  The ticket number is the best way for the Sheriff’s Office to know which ticket to apply your payment to.
